Mission, Vision, and Goals

Mission Statement
Our Chapter is a a group of men who enjoy singing four-part
harmony in the Barbershop style of music, whose mission is
to continually improve, and to share their love of music with
others.
Vision
Our Chapter's Vision is:
- To promote and encourage vocal harmony and good fellowship
among its members;
- To serve the musical needs of all current and potential
members by providing and supporting a wide variety of
Barbershop opportunities;
- To seek out new members and retain existing members;
- To encourage and promote the musical education of its
members;
- To support charitable projects;
- To introduce and promote Barbershop singing in schools
and universities;
- To promote public awareness and appreciation of Barbershop
harmony.
Goals
Our Chapter has set the following goals to achieve its
vision:
- Hold challenging and fun practices with a variety of
musical activities such as chorus singing, section practices,
organized quarteting, pickup quarteting, "tags"
and "gang singing".
- Members are to:
- Commit to continual improvement
- Strive for excellence
- Be positive and enthusiastic
- Promote Barbershop harmony
- Enjoy our hobby;
- Achieve a 10% per year average membership growth rate
for 4 years to build a chorus of 50 voices by June 2004;
- Take part in the annual Division competition;
- Produce and annual show
- Book a minimum of 4 paid chorus sing-outs per year,
and provide sing-outs for charitable events when the chorus
or quartets are available;
- Provide as many quartets as possible for the "Singing
Valentines" program;
- Encourage attendance at Harmony Homecoming of 60%;
- Encourage all new officers to attend CAPCOTS;
- Arrange a minimum of 2 social events per year.
